I am concerned about the push for triclosan, an active ingredient in anti-bacterial products. Using something in 'moderation' is up for interpretation, yet experts will continue to use these terms when using such an active substance. Along with all the gm foods we have been eating, what this will do in the long term is it will set a nation up to be less reactive to antibiotics. So why push a product that in the long term makes antibiotics less effective? Also, "Reports have suggested that triclosan can combine with chlorine in tap water to form chloroform gas, which the United States Environmental Protection Angency classifies as a probable human carcinogen. As a result, triclosan was the target of a UK cancer alert, even though the study showed that the amount of chloroform generated was less than amounts often present in chlorinated drinking waters."

There is an article from 1994 http://www.motherjones.com/politics/1994/05/cancer-business that gives an example of a company creating a problem and being a savior and how being both is bad news for consumers and this was over 10 years ago. The strategies and technologies these companies use to make and market products has been developing more rapidly and aggressively than ever before.

DDT  was suppose to be safe Agent Orange was suppose to be safe rbgh was suppose to be safe. Come on! All these get approval from the same agencies that are supposed to protect us. Sickness is big business and creating hysteria and sickness is even bigger business.

Articles like the one at the following link (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/01/health/01oaxaca.html) criticize Mexico and it's habits regarding doctors visits, when we do no different and now "To helpMexico meet the extra costs of the flu epidemic, the World Bank issued a loan of $205 million." This is not the first time the media demonizes a country then, The World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organization, to name a few financial institutions go to a country under the pretense that they are going to help when in reality enslave, acquire more natural resources and commodify people in developing countries. And of course the swine flu - Monsanto (another wonderful organization) along with others involved in the biotech industry, have been working on patenting genes. In the end people would end up paying licensing fees on life because, life itself will be considered intellectual property!!! Imagine owning the rights to the genetic make up of a disease and the life form from which it came from - imagine scientists researching a cure on your genes owned by these companies, you think these corporations will want you to find a cure or rather continue selling "treatments" for diseases? They will shut the research down or discredit the scientists and the research done on the project.

People want to be educated in financially lucrative careers, doctors get more patients, people stay scared, sick, divided, pollution goes up and recourses become more scarce and the price on recourses and stocks go up, the powerful stay in power...business ties - coincidences...I guess that’s a matter of fact or opinion depending on what you want to believe.
